Curiosity

As of when I'm posting this, the Curiosity Rover is 10 years and 342 days into its 2 year mission, and probably feels it's time it was allowed to go home. Fortunately, it had a baritone ukulele in its payload so was able to write something about its plight.

Lyrics and Chords:

[C]I was born for ad[Am]venture
To [Dm]travel distant [Am]worlds
And [F]serve your curi[Am]osity
The [F]flame that ever [G]burns[G7]

[F]So many [C]years ago
They [E7]launched me from my [Am]home
I [F]landed in a [C]crater
And [F]still that's [G]where I [C]roam

It's [F]hard to breathe, the ground is dry
There's [C]two moons in the rusting sky
I [E7]don't think I'm in Kansas any [Am]more

But [F]now my gadgets are deployed
I'll [C]check the weather, [Am]dig the soil
To [F]find whatever [Fm]you are looking [C]for

[C]I traverse the [Am]foothills
A[Dm]round Aeolis [Am]Mons
The [F]rivers and the [Am]lakes,
Once [F]here are now long [G]gone[G7]

But [F]thirsty as I [C]am
[E7]I will perse[Am]vere
The [F]mission must con[C]tinue
As [F]long as [G]I am [C]here

It's [F]hard to breathe, the ground is dry
There's [C]two moons in the rusting sky
I [E7]don't think I'm in Kansas any [Am]more

But [F]now my gadgets are deployed
I'll [C]check the weather, [Am]dig the soil
To [F]find whatever [G]you are looking [C]for

[C][Am]
[F][Fm][C]

[F]By now I must have [C]proven my [G]worth
[F]When will they let me [Fm]fly back to [C]Earth?

It's [F]hard to breathe, the ground is dry
There's [C]two moons in the rusting sky
I [E7]don't think I'm in Kansas any [Am]more

And [F]ten years on, I've done my best
I've [C]worked so hard, I [Am]need some rest
It's [F]time to send the [Fm]humans to ex[C]plore

It's [F]time to send the [Fm]humans to ex[C]plore
